Non Solus, the first digital version of Eric Gill’s ‘Solus’ typeface of 1929, is now offered in four weights, each with a free italic. The typeface is predictably English, uncluttered and elegant, more modern and less fussy than Joanna, Gill’s other slab serif, and also possessing greater warmth. The Non Solus family brings a forgotten classic back to active service. Gill’s alternative M is located at the μ key (Alt M on a Mac, Alt-0181 on a PC).
