Eldridge is reminiscent of the sort of clear functional slabserif that was often to be seen in the 19th century. It is the plainer cousin of our Bamberforth family and the two partner together very well-Bamberforth for the eyecatching hedines and Eldridge for the essential support. It is another new face, which harks straight back to Victorian times and, as such, is ideal for giving anything a 19th century feel-especially posters, book headings, dust jackets and invitations.
