Krete is an extensive text family by British designer Roy Preston. It is a hardy serif design, anchored by squared off wedge serifs and robust rounds. The figure set is old style, and there are several discretionary ligatures and an alternate base-aligning uppercase J. The family boasts a generous range of 6 weights including Light, Book, Regular, Medium, Bold, and Black, each with a drawn italic. It is a handsome typeface for text settings.

All of the fonts support an extended character set that covers many of the western and central European languages as well as these OpenType features: ligatures, discretionary ligatures, and stylistic alternates.
